Traditional to Contemporary: The Journey of Madhubani Painting

Jackfruit curated an exhibition “Traditional to Contemporary: The Journey of Madhubani Painting” for Delhi-based architect and artist Manisha Jha and her group.  It was held at Gallery Time and Space from 20th to 26th March 2010. This exhibition mapped the transition of Madhubani painting from the rural domestic sphere to the contemporary gallery.  Jackfruit also designed the catalogue and wrote the essay which focused on issues of gender, market demand, and the caste and class in the making of Madhubani painting. The show received an overwhelming response from art connoisseurs, buyers and the press.
